Sandwell Council is starting work to improve a pedestrian path at Wrights Lane which leads to the Dudley No2 Canal at Totnal Bridge.
The construction work is scheduled to start on site on 21st July and complete early September 2025. The work will cause no traffic disruptions, but residents are reminded that the path will be closed for safety purposes, and an alternate pedestrian route is available.
The works, funded by Government as part of the Towns Fund Rowley Regis Connected project, will see the existing steps and rail replaced and trees and undergrowth cut back.
The aim of this work is to make the pedestrian route feel more welcoming and accessible, making it more usable for the local need.
The Rowley Regis Connected Projects overall aim is to generate multi modal infrastructure improvements to link Blackheath, Cradley Heath and Oldbury.
