Residents of Rowley Regis are set to benefit from improved connectivity and enhanced pedestrian access as significant upgrades begin at Moor Lane. The much-anticipated works, which began in July 2024, are focused on constructing a new pathway through a tree-lined area between Moor Lane/Highams Close and Highmoor Road.
The new pathway aims to provide a safer and more accessible route for pedestrians, particularly benefiting those who regularly travel between these locations. Currently, the existing access route features a steep and slippery route, with overgrown trees and bushes further complicating the journey. These conditions have made the pathway challenging and potentially hazardous, especially in wet weather.
To address these issues, the new pathway has been carefully designed to follow the natural gradient of the terrain.
During the construction period, residents are advised to follow any temporary signage and use alternative routes where necessary.
The works, scheduled for completion by September 2024, are part of a wider initiative to improve transport and connectivity infrastructure across Rowley Regis. The scheme is part of the Rowley Regis Connected project, funded by the Government’s Town Fund initiative and the project will deliver connectivity improvements in Oldbury (Oldbury Ringway) and Cradley Heath (High Street).
