A new Neighbourhood Board is being established to oversee the Friar Park Pride in Place programme, which will bring up to £20 million funding to the area over the next 10 years.

Friar Park has been selected to benefit from up to £20 million in Government funding through the Pride in Place programme. This funding will support local improvements chosen by the people who live and work in Friar Park.

A new Friar Park Neighbourhood Board is being established to bring together local residents, businesses, community groups, young people, elected councillors, and the local MP together. The Board will oversee the programme and decide how the funding should be used to address the priorities of local people.

The Chair's role

The Chair will ensure that local voices are heard and that decisions reflect the needs and priorities of the community. Extensive experience in a similar role is not required. What matters most is a genuine interest in Friar Park and a commitment to improving local lives.

The Chair will:

  • bring people together, helping local residents share ideas and work collaboratively
  • act as a strong voice for Friar Park, championing the programme
  • support the recruitment of other Board members

Over the next 12 months, the Neighbourhood Board will:

  • engage with local people to find out what matters most to them
  • create a plan to improve the area, using the feedback from local people and local data
  • decide how the money should be spent to address the priorities of local people

Applications are now open for the Chair of the Friar Park Neighbourhood Board.

For more information about the role and how to apply, see the Chair’s advert.

The closing date is 11:59pm, Tuesday 10 February 2026

This is a unique opportunity to lead positive change in Friar Park and make a real difference in the community.
