The Smethwick Partnership Board is excited to announce the winner of its logo design competition, launched to create a bold new visual identity for the Board as it leads investment and regeneration across the town.
Congratulations to Naomi Davis whose design was selected as the official logo of the Smethwick Partnership Board.
The competition, launched in April and open to participants aged 16 and over, called for a logo that included the words “Smethwick Partnership Board” and captured the spirit of the community. 17 entries were submitted by local creatives and were reviewed by the Board on 20 May. Four entries were shortlisted and a final vote determined the winning design.
The winning design tells a powerful story. A mosaic globe made of colourful, interlocking segments sits at the top symbolising Smethwick’s diversity, unity and global outlook. Below, industrial icons like a tall chimney and arched canal bridge honour the town’s heritage while linking past and future. Every element, from the vibrant colours to the careful symbolism, reflects the Board’s values of inclusion, aspiration and progress.
Upon finding out she was the winner, Naomi said, “It means so much to know that my work will represent something so meaningful to the town and its community. I wanted the logo to reflect Smethwick’s history and diversity, while also capturing its energy and future potential. That’s why I was so excited to take part in this competition and it’s truly an honour to have my design chosen.”
The Smethwick Partnership Board logo will be featured across official websites, social media and promotional materials linked to the Towns Fund and the newly announced Plan for Neighbourhoods Programme. As Smethwick prepares for up to £20 million in Government-backed investment, the new logo will become a symbol of shared progress and local pride.
Naomi will receive a £40 Odeon West Bromwich cinema voucher as a token of appreciation and more importantly, the opportunity to showcase their design talents to the wider community.
The Smethwick Partnership Board extends its sincere thanks to everyone who submitted a design. The creativity and passion shown across all entries truly reflected the spirit of Smethwick.
