The Rowley Regis Parks Improvements project will improve the infrastructure, facilities and environmental quality of Britannia Park, promoting and enabling greater usage for a variety of purposes and build a new play area at Haden Hill Park, improving the health and wellbeing of residents across Rowley Regis.

This project was previously known as the Britannia Park Greenspace Project.

The project Full Business Case was approved by Government in March 2022. Since then, the project team have undertaken a number of activities in the background to finalise the work packages to deliver this project and on-site works commenced in March 2023.

In December 2024, the project secured an additional £414,000 Towns Fund Grant, following the reduction of investment from another Rowley Regis Town Deal project. This additional funding will further enhance the improvements to Britannia Park in Rowley Regis and build a new play area at Haden Hill Park, improving the health and wellbeing of residents across Rowley Regis.

The Rowley Regis Parks Improvement project will:

  • deliver a new low-carbon community building to provide changing rooms
  • install drainage to sport pitches
  • create 15 new allotment plots
  • widen the main entrance and driveway
  • improve the appearance of the two other entrance points (Ross and Mackmillan Road)
  • provide a new enlarged car park (90 spaces including 12 disabled parking bays)
