Seddon has reinforced its commitment to social value by lending hands-on support to West Smethwick Park during Sustainability Day on 29 October 2025.
West Smethwick Park, managed by Sandwell Parks & Green Spaces, plays an important role in community wellbeing. To help maintain the site as an accessible and attractive public space, 17 Seddon volunteers joined Volunteer Development Manager Andrew Walker and his team to carry out essential improvement works. Their efforts have already made a noticeable difference, benefiting both regular park users and new visitors.
“We were absolutely thrilled,” said Andrew Walker. “The Seddon team were absolutely brilliant. Their energy and commitment made a huge impact, and it’s great to see businesses getting involved in supporting our green spaces.”
Nicola Hodkinson, Owner and Director at Seddon, highlighted the company’s enthusiasm for giving back: “It was fantastic to be able to assist Andrew and his team with the improvement works needed across the park.
"Volunteering days like this are a brilliant way to bring teams together to make a difference for the communities in which we operate. We all left with a feeling of a job well done, and I’m proud of how much the team managed to accomplish in a single day.”
The collaboration is a strong example of how socially responsible businesses can contribute meaningfully to local environments, enriching public spaces while supporting community priorities.
