The Cradley Heath Skills Campus project is part of the Rowley Regis Towns Fund Programme and addresses barriers to economic growth caused by local skills deficiencies and limited access to a suitably skilled work within the Black Country and Sandwell.
The project delivers three key programmes:
- Essential Skills: access to foundation skills with English, Maths and Digital Skills
- Boost: development of pre-access Boost programme providing advanced study skills at Level 3 and access to Higher Education
- Gateway to opportunity: provision to supporrt those seeking a new career, a career change or promotion by enabling them to gain job-ready skills and access live job opportunities
The campus works in conjunction with local community groups to provide access to social, medical and other education advice and services, offering a resource centre with Sandwell College as the anchor institution.
The project Full Business Case was approved by Government in March 2022, and since then the project team have undertaken a range of background activities to finalise the work packages to deliver this project. Construction works started on-site in November 2024.
